In my online excursions for the perfect diy projects to bring to you ladies, I have stumbled upon some ideas that are so simple they couldn’t make for one entire project. However, I was so amped up by their insta-craftiness that I wanted to bring them bundled to you in a little love diy package I call: minute projects to spruce up your home!
So, these are pretty self-explanatory..which is awesome. I really love the idea of refurbishing things for your home with items you would never think could possibly serve another purpose. It makes you really feel that you got the bang for your buck, and the best part of it all? It’s RECYCLING! I love the word, the way it sounds, the meaning behind it all. I wish I saw more of it going around.
Recycling has become so simple- there are actually businesses created to pick up and sort recyclable materials for you. Can you believe that?? That’s right folks, these kind-hearted people don’t just pick it up for you, they sort through it too. I know, right? Why aren’t you doing this?! It’s so easy.
Locally we have a company called R-cubed that does our recycle pick up, but I’m sure you can just Google in you area and find people who are determined to slowly but surely help us save the planet.
Recycling can be as easy as doing some of these projects listed below. Some are plastic related, some are organization related, some are food related. These are ideas that you can do on your own without even going to your local store. Which is exactly the point..less waste all around. No need to go buy a new plastic container for the kids’ art supplies.. check out the easy refrubished idea of using paper towel holders and cardboard cylinders below.
This stuff is easy peasy.
Maybe you’re not quite there yet when it comes to the recycling of trash in your household. That’s ok! It’s definitely a process, a new habit, and unquestionably a new lifestyle to take on. I speak from experience, I need to revamp my disposal system to be more eco-friendly.
The first step is awareness. So take off those rose-colored glasses, missy. We’ve got a problem and even your little crafty self can help with just a few taps of the diy wand.
Let’s get to work. We’ve got a home to organize, a container to reuse, and a journey to start.
Go green and recycle at the same time. Just going crazy over this wire pot hanger turned eco-awesome.
Umm.. has someone been reading my mind? I have needed a cheap & cute way to store my sandals. Purchasing all of them put me in the predicament of needing a CHEAP storage solution. Thanks a lot shoe retailers. You had me from the word “Sale.”
Another use for wire hangers..
This is what I was chatting about earlier with using toilet paper rolls and cardboard cylinders for the kids and their craft room. So easy, right?

Old silver and nothing to do with it? Refurbish it to keep you organized! On the fridge. On a corkboard. These are sure to add a little pizzazz to your home! Definite conversation piece.
This is a fabulous idea. About to toss those old department store hangers? Stop right there. You can never have enough clips for bags in the kitchen- chips, cleaning products, and the like. Penny saver & better world maker. Sweet.
Another cool plastic diy with an old milk carton. Whoa. My mind is being blown. I never have to spend a million dollars on food storage again. Sayonara, Tupperware.
Old soda container turned canned goods organizer. I wish I would have had one of these in my house when I was little. We had so many cans of soup in our cupboard that I felt like an American Picker.. never knowing what flavor I would find! This definitely would have helped.
Yup that’s a nice kitchen utensil organizer at your local department store. Yup, I know you’ve been eyeing it. Throw some skewers or rice in a container and ta-da! That store ain’t got nuthin’ on you, you crafting machine.
Another cool way to organize your utensils..
Old shower rings and clothes pins…
I LOVE this one. Personally, I am sick of buying bobby pins. Every 300-count pack I buy, I swear to myself it will be my last. But to no avail, I’m in the beauty products aisle at the store a week later. I found this, and wondered why I didn’t think of it! A magnetic strip in your bathroom drawer. So crafty.
I just thought this looked like a fun way to recycle your kitchen supplies and have a little spa day for yourself.
Another plastic container food storage photo with an excellent idea..
Old baking cups been sitting in your pantry for months? About to do some spring cleaning? Move them into your wrapping/craft area and have some great touches to add to your gift wrapping in 2012.
I think this may possibly be one of my favs. Genius!
In “Looney Tunes” fashion, That’s allllll folks!
See ya next time. : )
